From the Track to Inspiration: Raúl González Rodríguez
On Tuesday, December 12, 2022, the facilities of Aceros del Toro came alive with the presence of the legendary Olympic medalist Raúl González Rodríguez. From his humble beginnings in the community of China, Nuevo León, to achieving glory as a racewalker in the Los Angeles Olympic Games, Raúl shared his extraordinary athletic journey with an auditorium full of colleagues.
Starting his career on the track during middle school, competing in the 1,500 meters, and exploring baseball and soccer, Raúl passionately recounted the challenges he faced on his path to success. From earning a university scholarship to his remarkable achievements at Tec de Monterrey, every obstacle he overcame brought him closer to his Olympic dream.
His determination and love for racewalking propelled him onto the international stage, culminating in Olympic gold on his third attempt and opening doors to new opportunities in administrative roles.
